We felt right at home! Ginger and Jim were gracious, welcoming hosts who were around to chat with us. Everything was as described, clean, tidy and labeled. This is the best house I have ever lived in. Just like living in your own home. All the daily necessities are available. The room is clean and tidy. The check-in guide is very creative and clear. The location of the house is very good, it is convenient to go anywhere. It's within half an hour's drive to O'Hare Airport or downtown Chicago. Everything is just right. We could not have asked for a more perfect house for our trip back to my hometown, Evanston. The house was the perfect size for our family, two adults and two kids (9 and 12 yo), with our own very comfortable beds and two bathrooms. The nightlights and sound machines in the rooms were awesome, we normally travel with ours but no need here as they already had them. You are on a main street so there is some street noise to be expected, but with the blackout curtains and sound machines, we all slept amazing. The access to laundry was fabulous, and although we didn't explore the backyard it looked lovely. We walked 10 mins down Main to a great coffee shop and stores, and walked the 25 mins to downtown Evanston for lunch and shopping. I'm not usually the type to leave reviews (call it lazy) but it's warranted here. The hosts laid out everything in detail making our stay seamless and comfortable. I would 100% come back here again or even move in if they (and my wife) would let me. Great spot if visiting Evanston/Northwestern. Easy access to Chicago (downtown or anything north). I could go on and on but I don't want to set expectations too high :) Our group had 1 elderly person that had trouble with stairs (4-5 out front that are easy enough to navigate and a fold out bed and half bath on the main level). I also had two kids (7 and 5). They loved it. The hosts went above and beyond to make it an easy and fun visit for kids and adults alike. Travelling with an older person and two youngish kids is never easy but this spot and the wonderful hosts make it as easy and enjoyable as I can imagine. Thanks again! I would highly recommend Jim & Ginger's home to anyone considering a stay in Evanston. The house itself was beautiful and comfortable, with almost too many small touches to mention. The house manual was clear, detailed and very helpful. Communication with Jim & Ginger was easy and they were very flexible. This is one of the best Air BnB properties that I have experienced.
